Turn Uncertainty into Opportunity
November 03, 2020
It’s a far to common site these days. - Another golf club closing its doors for the final time.
Regardless of whether or not you have been a member at your club for 20 years or if you don’t have a membership at all. There is nothing worse than seeing another golf club go out of business with greens becoming overrun by livestock.
It is my mission to save a golf club from this misfortune and ensure that the clubs we save become flagships examples of clubs which will thrive once more by making golf more accessible to a whole new generation of golfers.
I want to help you to promote your golf club and showcase it in all its glory.
We don’t all have ex-members playing and winning on tour. But, we all have clubhouse legends and their stories could be the key to your success in the future. Whether its tales from the course, club history or escapades in the bar telling your stories to the masses could be the content to turn your fortunes around. We will help you unlock the potential of your social media pages and connect you with all the right people you need to get your clubs web pages on the road to ranking higher on google.
I have seen the unfortunate end of a golf club first hand. - It still haunts me. Despite the fact it boasted some of the best practice facilities in the region, a championship course and holiday villas my first home club was unable to survive the harsh world of the golf industry. I often find myself thinking what might have been for them. -If they had the powers of today’s social media platforms back then it is quite possible that the outcome may have been entirely different.
Losing a great golf course was devastating but what hurt the most was seeing the effect it had on those working there. The ones who had worked tirelessly to make it such special golf club to me and hundreds of others. Some left the golf industry completely, others had to leave the area to find new work. The members who had all once enjoyed the clubhouse were scattered across a number of different clubs all searching for that club atmosphere that had been cruelly ripped taken from them.
Our golf clubs are more than just golf courses. They are communities, support groups and as you pull your clubs out of the car and head for the first tee, they are an escape from the busy lives we all lead. It’s not just ideal to save a golf club, we have a duty to save them and to encourage others take up golf and realise the benefits our beautiful game and special clubs have on many people’s well-being and mental health.
Some may say my passion for golf borders on obsession but I am now starting to see potential in turning that obsession into an opportunity to give something back to a game that has given me so much over the years.
As we begin to enter more times of uncertainty due to Covid restrictions the outlook is potentially catastrophic for some golf clubs. If you work at a club which is keen to utilise this time to improve things behind the scenes or if you think your club could benefit from such a service, I would be delighted to introduce myself and see how we can work together to form a brighter future.
