Something Exciting Is Happening
February 06, 2021
Started from my bedroom now I’m here. – “Where are you?” – I hear you ask in a Delia Smith esque rallying cry.
Well, I am delighted to say I am now the resident blogger over on the Amateur Golf Collective in a deal that was secured with one golden ticket to the Manchester Wings Festival courtesy of Jay – the man behind the mission. Oh, a small disclaimer - I’m not even a big fan of wings! Something about eating meat off the bone disturbs me, like the feeling of a sweetly struck socket rocket.
I just really like spending time on this mission to provide the golf industry with an opportunity to embrace the new era of brands who all share a collective goal of growing the game of golf.
The mission is NOT to provide a profit driven subscription box it is to provide a safe haven for new brands to push and promote their hard work and the box is a golden chalice to bring these incredible brands to you in an affordable way so that we can support the independent brands started by people who have a real understanding of exactly what the Amateur game is looking for.
I decided to join this mission [because Jay beat me into submission with hundreds of phone calls] – Replace with – because Jay is a like minded amateur who sees the golf industry through concerned amateur eyes. Danger everywhere with a whole host of big manufacturers trying to suck every last penny out of our golf addictions. We both share a common interest of seeking a way in which we can have a positive effect on the Golf Industry whether that is through supporting the community with kind words and affection or helping to get a brand the visibility it needs to support a family or one day perhaps even save a golf club from the brink of closing to provide that pace of safe refuge for a whole community of golfers.
I am extremely excited about the future of working with Amateur Golf Collective and meeting not just the people behind the brands but also those who buy the box to find out more about what it is we all want from the game of golf and look for ways we can continue to make minuet changes at the grass roots to ensure the brightest possible future for the amateur game of golf.
